Black History Month 2009!  To celebrate Black History Month 2009, the pupils of St Augustine’s researched lyrics by well known black artists. The huge number of parents/ carers who attended the special assembly were treated to performances of songs by Stevie Wonder, Rhianna, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Labi Siffre, Bob Marley and Beyonce Knowles.

International Languages Day 2009!

On 25th September 2009, pupils and staff took part in a celebration of cultures around the world. From Burundi to Poland, Pakistan to Kenya, St Augustine’s travelled the world in a day! A Viking Came to School!!!

Yes, you heard correctly! Children in year 3 were visited by someone very special on Wednesday 7th October. Ok, so he wasn’t a REAL Viking. But Gary from a Viking reenactment group visited year 3 to show them some special artefacts and to talk to the children all about what it was like to live in Scandinavia some 1000 years ago.
